How many environmental labs do you use on a regular basis? I’m going to step out on a limb here and assume that you probably stick to the two or three that you are most familiar with — those that you started working with back in 1990, when you were listening to U Can’t Touch This and wearing Hammer Pants. You’ve built relationships with the business development folks and the project management staff, and contracting elsewhere might feel like you are telling your mother-in-law that after 15 years of doing Christmas at her house, you’ve decided that you are going to visit your own parents this year. But in this economy, not looking elsewhere may be the most costly decision you make.
There are labs out there that will offer to match or beat whatever pricing you currently have so that they might see more business from you. There are labs that offer free courier service or shipping, that don’t charge programming fees for new EDD formats or Level IV reporting. Some labs won’t even charge for trip blank analysis! I know, right?!
Everywhere, folks are hungry for work, and it may be a good time to give another lab a shot. We’ll even help you out! Click here to download a sortable file of over 800 labs with websites, addresses, and phone numbers. Happy hunting!
